I'm excited about my upcoming exhibit at the Dedham Square Artist Guild! I am the "Artist of the Month" for October and decided to call my exhibit "We are the World; Art Without Borders". I wanted a show that focuses on people from around the world and what we have in common. It's a response to my concerns about our present isolationist tone that has developed in Washington. Any of the proceeds that I earn from the sale of the art will be donated to "Doctors Without Borders", an organization that helps people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care. They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed or political conviction. MSF was founded in 1971 and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999. Website: http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org.

This is my first attempt at blogging! Please be patient with me as I learn how to do this. My goal in starting a blog is to let everyone know what I'm up to, announce where my art work is being shown, classes I may be teaching and sharing anything else I think is interesting in the art world.
It's a busy time for me this spring. I just taught a class in Ukrainian Egg decorating at the Dedham Square Artist Guild and had six very creative students! My next workshop will be Gelatin Monotype Printing on May 10th at the Dedham Community House (http://www.dedhamcommunityhouse.org/programs/program-calendar.html?task=view_event&event_id=264). This will be the third time I've taught this workshop and the participants always have a good time. Everyone goes home with at least 10 frameable prints! Please contact me if you have any questions about it. |
